An unexpected house move triggered a major milestone in the build: relocating the project to a new workshop. This chapter documents the careful lifting, transport, and reinstallation of the starboard main hull half, marking the transition to a new phase in Fram’s construction.
Moving to the new workshop
Quite unexpectedly and completely on the spur of the moment, we bought a new house. One of those rare, once-in-a-lifetime opportunities: a water villa with a jetty large enough to eventually moor our F-39 trimaran. With that, another long-held dream became reality — living directly by the water.
The downside was that I had to give up my home workshop. The upside: the boatbuilding project could move to a spacious workshop nearby, part of the company where I work. This marks the start of a new phase in the construction of Fram.
Occupying part of the company workshop is not a permanent situation, which means priorities shift from now on. The focus will be on (partly) finishing the F-39 and getting her into the water, so she can lie alongside the jetty at our new home. Further work on interior, hardware, and rigging will follow later, after launch.
