After weeks of preparation and removing thousands of screws, the main hull is finally freed from the mold frames. Using four electric hoists, the hull is carefully lifted and turned upside down—another major milestone that opens the next phase: working on the outside of the hull.
Freed from the mold frames, a milestone again
A long weekend of preparations preceded this moment, including the removal of roughly 7,500 screws. A tedious but necessary job before the hull could be safely lifted out of the mold frames.
The big event—hoisting the hull and turning it upside down—was done the following weekend. I prefer to do this kind of work on my own: no onlookers, no hurry, time to think things through and move carefully. With the help of the four electric hoists mounted in the ceiling, the whole operation went smoothly and in a controlled manner.
The hull is now fully upside down and ready for the next phase: all further work on the outside of the hull.
