The left side in this picture is the inner side of the float. This is an alternative shape to give a flatter walking area, along with a higher and built in wing net mounting point. The aluminum tube for this purpose on the F-36 has thus been eliminated. The outer side of the float (right in the picture) has a flat area for reduced folded beam. This area is vertical while folded, reducing the beam with another 230 mm. to 4.57 m.
