The Strong Back is the basic foundation on which the hulls are built. Its basic purpose is to provide a true flat and level surface on which the temporary mold frames can be set up on. With the use of a leveling instrument at the opposite of the street (operated by my wife) it was an easy job to level the topsides of the plywood strips.
